Reiki Treatment FAQs
What Happens During a Reiki Treatment?
A Mystic Medicine Reiki treatment is delivered to you in the comfort of my office. The focus is entirely on your individual healing experience. Your session begins with a detailed history, bio-energy assessment, and discussion regarding your intentions for the session and the specific areas of concern you would like to address (physical/emotional/spiritual). We will review the information you submitted when you scheduled your session.
During the Reiki treatment, you will lie down on a Reiki table or sit in a treatment chair. You may be covered with a blanket (if you choose), while listening to the music of your choice (or silence if you prefer). I will then begin to float my palms above your body in a series of hand positions where your bio-energy centers are located and where required for specific healing of problem areas in order to deliver Reiki energy. There is no touching or manipulation of your body and you will remain fully clothed throughout the session. The Reiki treatment covers first your head, then the front of your body, then the back, and finally any specific areas of concern you have identified.
At the end of the session you will be given the opportunity to share anything that has arisen for you during the treatment and you will be given post healing information.Â
What Does Reiki Feel Like?
Reiki usually feels warm and very relaxing. There is no expected experience - Reiki treatment is unique for each individual who receives it. Most commonly, results of a Reiki treatment include a perceived reduction in stress, increased relaxation, and an enhanced sense of balance and feeling centered.
What are the Benefits of Several Sessions?
Just like meditation, the effects of Reiki are cumulative. Even though one session may bring wonderful results, repeated and regular Reiki treatments can result in significant improvement in healing and overall well-being.
Can Reiki Cure Me?
Reiki is not a cure. Reiki is a complementary healing art that works well alone and with other traditional or alternative treatments. Reiki is not a replacement for traditional medical treatment.
Does My Insurance Cover Reiki?
