What Qualifies Someone to be a Chakra and Crystal Healer?

Qualifications for a Chakra and Crystal Healer

If you're looking for a chakra and crystal healer, or if you want to become one yourself, the qualifications needed are: spiritual maturity, wisdom, intuition, education, skill, experience, sensitivity, humility, excellent communication skills, reliability, honesty, responsibility, faith, and belief.

Chakra and crystal healing can be learned intellectually, but for it to be truly effective it needs to go beyond that. It's a form of spiritual healing with a skill level that needs to be nurtured and developed over a period of time (usually years). It relies heavily on the intuition, deep connection to Spirit, and real-life experience of the healer.

If you want to learn chakra and crystal healing there's no course you can take for a few bucks (or a lot of bucks) and then expect afterward to be considered a master - able to safely and effectively help people and/or make a living doing it. Mastery isn't achieved overnight or through one course, although some people would lead you to believe that.

Ancient Chakra and Crystal Healers

Competent, ethical chakra and crystal healers have been around for thousands of years. They were wise, intuitive, holistic, and respected members of their societies. They had an innate connection to science, energy, and universal principles. They were energy healing sages and scientists who lived and practiced the principles of love, unity, and connection.

The Qualification of Spiritual Belief

Over the last two decades or so, in the face of criticism, spiritual complementary healing practitioners began to feel the need to "rationalize" their practices of healing. However, the rationale for these ancient healing practices has always been that Spirit (called by many names) is the energy responsible for the healing. Spirituality requires belief in something greater than ourselves, as well as faith (complete trust and confidence) that this something greater is in control. This belief is what empowered the ancients, shaped their thinking, and influenced their reasons for taking a particular course of action. Belief was the basis for it all.

By today's standards this simple yet immeasurable (and therefore considered irrational) qualification of belief seems unacceptable to many skeptics, potential clients, and even some inexperienced practitioners. Since it's deemed unacceptable, the belief is dismissed. It's seen as not enough of a qualification because it's somehow not credible.

If you believe, just as the ancients did, and that belief is the foundation of your healing practice, the fear has become that you'll be called a quack and not taken seriously. And so, with spiritual belief removed from the list of qualifications, there needs to be something more "acceptable" to take its place.

Chakra and Crystal Healing is Legitimate

The German philosopher Arthur Schopenhauer once said:

"All truth passes through three stages: It gets ridiculed, it's violently opposed, then it's accepted as being self-evident."

Because of this nonacceptance, and because the ego loves labels and titles, a new idea has begun to emerge within the world of complementary medicine of granting certificates, diplomas, or certifications to those who wish to become chakra and crystal healers - all within an extremely short amount of time compared to other fields of practice.

These are mostly attempts by healers-turned-business owners, a few highly qualified but many questionable, to pass on some knowledge to the large numbers of people interested in entering this field. They can't be faulted for this. The purpose for charging to access this knowledge is to be successful in business.

But, unfortunately it also feeds the ego's need to prove to the world that chakra and crystal healers know all there is to know about chakras and crystals, that they understand how to apply this knowledge to heal others, and that they can deliver care safely and effectively, so therefore their practice is (and by default they personally are) legitimate.

However, many already know they're legitimate healers. They know who they are, what they have overcome, what their knowledge encompasses, what their abilities are, they're strong in their beliefs, and they've proven through experience that all of it together works for them and their clients. They are the modern representatives of the ancient healers.

Now they're watching the market become flooded with "master courses" and "certification courses" and the like. It's reminiscent of what happened with the essential oil multi-level marketing companies and the slew of "Wellness Advocates" that now compete with real, qualified Aromatherapists for space in social media newsfeeds. And unfortunately, the masses of unqualified people are winning. The authentic healers are outnumbered. The result is the public in general is suffering the consequences from the proliferation of dangerous information and practices.

Short courses in chakra and crystal healing that conclude with the conferring of an invented title such as Master are created for one other purpose besides making money - and that's to convey to the public the student has attained at least basic and maybe even some advanced level of study. But in this field, because of its spiritual nature that relies so heavily on the stage of spiritual development of the healer, these courses probably always will fall short of the true measure of a qualified chakra and crystal healer.

Something else to consider is that there's no agreed upon standard of education or skill assessment for chakra and crystal healing. There's no industry regulation on what that standard should look like. "Master" and "Certified" are terms used for marketing the courses. And, unsurprisingly, they've become extremely popular. But what one educator considers a "Master" may be quite different from another. Just as all doctors earn the title of "Doctor", not all are equally competent, not only because of their individual skills, but also because of where they received their education. And so, it falls upon the judgment of each individual teacher of chakra and crystal healing to assess when their students are ready to help others. Not all of these teachers merit that kind of power because they're not all qualified themselves.

To put it plainly, energy healing is serious business that can affect someone physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually - and not everyone will be qualified to do it (most likely not after one course, and some maybe not ever).

If you're deciding to choose between an accredited course or a certification course, the accredited course will require higher standards to graduate, but still be unable to measure all the other qualities needed to be an effective chakra and crystal healer.

There's no argument that the courses themselves are legitimate, but that legitimacy does not necessarily transfer to the healer in a spiritual sense. It's the difference between "book smart" and "street smart". Some things you just need to learn by allowing Spirit to elevate you to a higher consciousness as you navigate the events of your life.

Titles as Validation for Qualified Spiritual Healing

A title and recognition provides a feeling of validation and an affirmed sense of self. Some student or new healers might need this validation, but again, many experienced ones may not.

Healers who have been practicing for a long time are interpreting this new validating process through a different lens. They see it as an attempt to reverse-engineer spiritual healing, from reasoning and action to belief, instead of the other way around as the ancients practiced. Again, in some cases it is taught that belief in the energy of Spirit is "unnecessary" because of science. Depending on science alone seems to hold more merit than unnecessary and unacceptable belief in something greater. It also allows more people to feel comfortable entering and paying for a course of study without feeling expected to believe in Spirit. There is no doubt the science is valid, but dismissing belief altogether contradicts the modality of spiritual healing, which is what chakra and crystal healing is at its very heart.

These new titles of Master or Certified don't outright say it, but they by their very nature infer that mastery in the spirituality of a chakra and crystal healer can be measured and declared. The potential problem is that vulnerable clients seeking a spiritual or energy healer, without being aware of it, will see a title such as Master or Certified, pick up on this inference, and accept it as truth, when in fact it only represents a fraction of the qualifications needed to be an effective chakra and crystal healer.

The Healer's Personal Journey from Wounded to Overcomer

The best healers are usually overcomers. They have personally overcome very difficult physical, mental/emotional, or spiritual crises. Overcome is the key word.

The world has too many wounded healers that have not moved beyond their wounds to a place of inner peace. A wounded healer will bring their awareness into a healing session, causing a conscious or unconscious relationship to take place between them and the person they are helping to heal.

It becomes a negative situation when a chakra and crystal healer is still working on their issues, or is vulnerable to having their past issues reopened, while they're trying to help you with yours.

All healers have wounds because they are all human, but they should at the very least know how to get themselves into a state where they can leave those issues outside the healing room door.

A Chakra and Crystal Healer Is A Facilitator

As previously stated, a qualified chakra and crystal healer needs to have a strong foundation in spirituality, a personal relationship with Spirit, and a willingness to relinquish control. They should understand that they're not doing the healing - it's the energy of Spirit working with the energy of the person being healed. A chakra and crystal healer is only a facilitator of this process.

This can be very hard for healers with inflated egos to deal with. If you're looking for a chakra and crystal healer and you find one who claims they can heal your physical or emotional ailments, and they don't mention that they're following Spirit's guiding hand in the process, they aren't qualified to help you. They may even make your situation worse. And please, if they say they can help your financial situation (after charging you for a session!) - run away.

Becoming a Chakra and Crystal Healer

Certain people find the process of becoming a chakra and crystal healer easier and faster than others, probably due to the intuitive, energy-sensing abilities they were born with. People call this being "empathic" or "intuitive". These abilities make getting to the root causes of problems for their clients much easier and the healing experience richer and deeper for both the healer and the client.

While being an empath is a natural gift, intuition can be developed by anyone over time with dedication and practice. People can learn the processes for tapping into their inner knowing and become "intuitive".

Practicing Chakra and Crystal Healing

Above all else, a chakra and crystal healer needs to deliver their spiritual services safely and ethically. Since there's no standard of care for the practice of chakra and crystal healing, it is without question that those with professional healthcare licenses who add chakra and crystal healing to their practices are currently the best trained and will have the highest awareness in this area.
